Gantry Plaza State Park is a 12-acre (4.9 ha) state park on the East River in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, in the New York City borough of Queens. The park is located in a former dockyard and manufacturing district, and includes remnants of facilities from the area's past. The most prominent feature of the park is a collection of gantries with car float transfer bridges, which in turn were served by barges that carried freight railcars between Queens and Manhattan.Put Gantry Plaza State Park on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Queens travel planner.

An awesome place to just relax at sunset or with morning coffee on an adirondack chair. The peace and quiet is unmatched! more »
The views are amazing! It feels as if you've left dirty, stinky New York City and entered some sort of dimension where everything is pristine and everyone is happy and in harmony. Unbelievable how your mood changes as soon as you see the skyline across the water. Bring the entire family! The playground and dog park are very cute, and the kids have a fountain to play in. Pack a towel and a change of clothes!
It has the most wonderful view of Manhattan. It's a great place for relaxing, and having a picnic. Great park for kids with a sand area. Super nice. Bathrooms are horrible though.
