Once a luxurious ocean liner, today The Queen Mary is home to a hotel, restaurants, and numerous exhibits. Take one of the guided tours to learn about the history of the ship, including its construction and service in WWII. A variety of other tours are available, such as an exploration of the ship’s haunted past and a journey into the historic submarine. After getting your fill of history, browse some of the stores. A nautical-themed gift makes a great souvenir. Don’t leave without sampling some of the onboard drinking and dining options. The 1930’s-themed observation bar, once the liner’s first-class lounge, offers superb ocean views. Decadent atmosphere. Fantastic food. Awesome entertainment. It's an experience of opulence and extravaganza one would expect living in 1940's. This is probably one of the most rare places to enjoy such service. Take yourself and those you love to something amazing. Truly not to be missed.

There were 2 of us that paid $40 each and we had 3 different tours. The older woman at the ticket booth was a bit cranky when I asked some questions about the tour. She interrupted me and asked in a irritated voice, "Do you want to do these tours or not?" A little patience and friendliness will go a long ways. The tours did not take us to different areas of the ship but we really wanted to get to the outside.(but didn't) Each tour lasted about one hour so we did not have any time to try to explore other places. Much of the ship is closed off to the public. There are people who rent rooms here but those reviews are quite varied. The tour guides on each of the tours were very knowledgeable and each tour was very interesting. We ate at a restaurant near the tour center and wish we would have gone elsewhere. The chicken seemed to be reheated and the bread was dry. The veggie wrap was a bit tasteless. Those working there were just doing there job, not real friendly at all. The young gal who seated us was sitting and had her fingers in her mouth, picking at her teeth when we were leaving. Overall, we were glad to have seen parts of the ship and hear about her history. The city of Long Beach needs to spend some money to get the interior looking better and possibly train restaurant and ticket booth employees to be more tourist friendly.
