Enjoy outdoor fun in the green expanse of Liberty State Park. From its Upper North Bay location, you can see Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Manhattan skyline as you picnic, fish, or kayak. You can also walk, bike, or skate on the miles of paths. Take the Liberty Walk, which loops around the waterfront to the Statue of Liberty lookout point. Pay your respects at the Holocaust and 9/11 memorials. Don't miss the Liberty Science Center's interactive exhibits and the nation's largest IMAX dome theatre. The park is easy to reach from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which stops just west of the facility. Lovely park with great views. Our dog loved running around in snow here when we lived in Jersey City. It has a 9/11 memorial that is worth the visit. If you are a runner this park has some paths to run with great city views. It if you live in jersey city it’s a fun walk/run to the park. If you are visiting the Statue of Liberty you are bound to be in the park to catch the boat. I would spend some time just hanging around and perhaps eat at one the restaurant that will give a one of the best views of status of liberty and downtown Manhattan
Amazing park. Absolutely stunning view of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty/Ellis island. It feels like you are in a 3D postcard. Healthy 3mile walk sipping coffee with our elderly beagle. She loved the high grass and trees next to the walking path. Felt great for her paws to be off the pavement for a while. I highly recommend this for any visitor to the area.
