Truman Library and Museum in Independence will shut its doors on July 23, 2019 and remain closed for approximately one year while it undergoes a multimillion-dollar expansion and renovation. • Gave me a thorough and overwhelmingly favorable picture of the president but left room to raise questions and wonder about some aspects of his life and some of his presidential decisions. Perhaps particularly enjoyable if you grew up closer to that time or have a particular interest in history, the question of the use of the atomic bomb, social welfare programs, and popular culture especially during the early 1950s.
