  • People are so friendly and helpful here. The campus is full of quiet spots to study. Hamilton Library staff is awesome. My professors are very supportive.
  • Proudly, I have interacted with students and even professors at this university when I was invited by the East West Center as artist/filmmaker in Residence at the EW Arts Gallery in 2006. For about two weeks, the UHM was my home as I stayed at the Burn's Hall and had scheduled talks with students from the main school and two other state colleges in Honolulu. Again in 2013, we had a film and photo exhibit on Ilocano Culture at UHM where I presented a movie about the historic Japanese invasion in the Philippines that also showed a love story between a Japanese official and a young Ilocana of Ilocos Sur. On those two occasions, I also got to meet Professor Belinda Aquino who already retired on my second with Professors Aurelio Solver Agcaoili and Imelda Gasmen also of UHM.
