Grandview Point Reviews
素晴らしい景色です。グランドキャニオンの雄大さがよくわかります。車で回りましたが、グランドビューという名前にひかれて、とまって車をおりてみました。絵葉書で良く見かける景色です。 more »It is a wonderful scenery. You can see the grandeur of the Grand Canyon. I drove around, but i was run over by the name Grandview, and i stopped and got down. It is a scenery often seen in the picture postcard.
Der Aussichtspunkt hat seinen Namen absolut verdient und lohnt den Stopp auf jeden Fall. Der Grand Canyon von hier wirkt einfach grandios more »The viewpoint absolutely deserves its name and is definitely worth the stop. The Grand Canyon from here looks simply magnificent
Ironically, this is not the grandest view of the Grand Canyon. But it still amazes. I noticed another trailhead here that I would love to hike. The view of Sinking Ship is interesting. Reminds me of the Titanic going down.
Grandview Point is one of a handful of stops you can make along the Desert View Road from the Grand Canyon Village. This is the the location of a late 19th century hotel built by entrepreneur, Pete Berry hoping to cash in on the tourism boom that had started at the Grand Canyon. There is no evidence of the old hotel or log cabin that was here prior to that. However, there is an information board detailing its history. Further, this is the start of the Grandview Trail, which was used by earlier visitors to scale down the Rim into the canyon. This remains a popular hike today and is probably, a good reason to stop here beyond simply viewing into Grand Canyon to take in the splendid views If you are driving out to Dessert View Watchtower, this makes a nice stopping point. Views here are quite impressive. You can see the North Rim very well as well as glance in both the eastern and western directions into the canyon. You can take a few pictures, read the historical accounts provided at this stop and then be on your way east to other viewpoints along the way to the watchtower. Note: The Desert View Drive from the Grand Canyon Village is a round trip 50 mile drive. Make sure to give yourself at least 2-3 hours so you have enough time for a few stops along the way for various viewpoints, the Tusayan Museum and the Desert View Watchtower attraction.
