Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Just north of the city spreads the "Fruit Belt" of Pennsylvania, known for its sprawling apple orchards and vineyards. Gettysburg itself is a small town, home to only about 7,000 permanent residents. Despite its size, the town boasts many historical attractions, such as private museums that display vast collections of authentic Civil War firearms, uniforms, and other memorabilia.
