At Waldameer & Water World you can enjoy roller coasters, kiddie rides, water attractions, and everything in between. This park, which originally opened as a picnic venue called Hoffman's Grove, got its current name when the Erie Electric Motor Company leased it in 1896. Experience the two most famous park rides, the Whacky Shack and the Pirates Cove, which were added in the 1970s. The park also has a number of newer rides, such as the wild X-Scream, and gentler options for kids and families. When you want to cool off, take a plunge down the water world slides or bring your children to the tad pool areas. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Erie holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Waldameer & Water World and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Waldameer & Water World reviews
Great fun place for families, great rides, only gave 4 stars because families that just want to walk around and only buy food and not ride rides can’t do that anymore, rules are changed and you can... more »
We drove a little over 5 hours to come to our hometown and visit Waldameer before they closed and we were not disappointed, workers were not stickler about wearing masks. As long as we had one... more »
The locals all know that Waldameer is the place to take the kids for theme park fun for a sunny day in Erie. It's not as huge as Hershey Park, that you would require a hotel stay in order to enjoy all the attractions. You can enjoy everything at Waldameer in the course of one very full day, and that includes all the water rides. There is ample free parking, plus there is no fee to enter the park, so that running back and forth to the car is not a problem. It costs $16 to rent a large locker for the day, which is ample space for a large beach bag, towels, sandals, and a purse. They are located conveniently to the water rides and the entrance. I went with the family on an August Monday, and enjoyed short waits on most rides. We will be back!
Such a wonderful amusement park. Our family, including a 3 and a 5 year old, went to both Water World and Waldameer. We had a great time in the newer kids area including all the kids slides, Battle of Lake Erie, and wave pool. We also loved the bigger slides as well. After the water park, we did rides for the rest of the day. The kiddie land rides were great for both kids. And my eldest was able to enjoy some of the bigger rides with her dad. The Comet is always a favorite and the Ravine Flyer is amazing!
