The Copper Art Museum is Arizona's newest art museum which is in perfect unity with the former company-town of Clarkdale, a City Beautiful Movement town founded in 1912. Clarkdale was built by Senator W. A. Clark “America’s Copper King” for the mass-production of industrial copper from 1915 to 1953, which was exported throughout the world. The museum’s collection is the “largest return of copper,” “back” to both Clarkdale and the “Copper State” and showcases what man created with the red-metal while it was away.
The Copper Art Museum features exhibits of copper art and collections for study, which were made by coppersmiths, soldier artists and braziers; many of whom were masters in their trade. Artifacts displayed have an emphasis on American and European works-of-art from the 16th - 21st century. The affinities and history of copper is also featured and is very fascinating, bringing forth forgotten stories, legends and mysteries. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Clarkdale holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Arizona Copper Art Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

What a fabulous museum! So well laid out and housed in a old high school built in the 1930's I think. This museum is privately owned and a passion for the people that run it. Just fascinating the history and importance of Copper, and who would have thunk it? Also in a lovely, historically interesting little town. A Must See! I am now reading the book about this fascinating family!
Lots of copper everywhere!! Interesting pieces and history. Museum attendant was very knowledgeable and friendly, he came by many occasions asking us if we had any questions. This museum is located in the old high school building, every room is marked it regard to what it was used during the high school days along with some photographs. We enjoyed looking at all the artifacts and displays. The adult entrance fee is $9.75 per person.
