Old Faithful Geyser of California, Calistoga

1.9
#4 of 14 in Parks in Napa Valley
A smaller version of the famous geyser of the same name, Old Faithful Geyser of California shoots water into the air every 30 minutes. Purchase a ticket to view the geyser at the visitor center, and wait for the next eruption. While you wait, relax in the log cabin ambiance or visit the animals outside. You can see Tennessee "fainting" goats, llamas, and Jacob's Four-Horn Sheep. • Wonderful grounds with lots of seating areas. Great place for a picnic. They even have a picnic station inside with supplies (napkins, wine glasses, utensils, a microwave) all for use for free! The an...  more »
  • Was underwhelmed by this stop, the geyser goes up fairly frequently so you don’t need to wait long for the “big” display. Having seen Old Faithful I was expecting a bit more. There are informative sig...  more »
  • The Geyser really is small and the entrance is a little salty, I think USD 15, but is a geyser, I've never seen before! And still feed a llama, a different program, for us it was fun! I saw people looking the geyser by the fence without paying admission, I don't think it's cool to do it, Yes, if $ entry do not lack. Have picnic area, but no use.

  • Beautiful geyser. Predictable eruptions of the geyser. The zoo is nice. The cost of entry is quite high for what you get in return. I recommend it if you have disposable income burning holes in your pockets and 1 hour to burn. There are not enough things going on to spend more than 1-1.5 hours there.
  • One of the best phenomenon of Nature in close proximity to the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and the "wine country" experience. A holy site for the indigenous people who once populated the beautiful Valley. A gentle reminder of Mother Nature's gift to all. Amazingly, this is in private ownership rather than the State park system. Much history in this area. Forget about the wine tastings; read up on the gealogical idiosyncrasies of the area. Explore such places as this. Spend the admission fee, bring in your lunch, soak up everything about the Geyser. But keep dry! (Or don't.) Relax and have some fun. Feed the adorable goats and chickens, llama too. Not to be missed!
  • Fun time with the kids. Somehow I thought the geyser would be spewing steaming hot water, but it was cold. My son and I did enjoy feeding the goats and sheep.
  • Great place with clean restrooms and awesome gift shop!! Highly recommend spending time here...takes about 30 minutes to see all phases of the geyser.
  • I REALLY want to show love for CA Old Faithful, but it's just not that impressive. if you're passing by, or if you're in the area, then definitely stop by and check it out. I wouldn't recommend driving 1.5 hours or more to see it though.
