Designed by the same landscape architects who created Central Park, Prospect Park is home to Brooklyn's only lake, which spans 24 hectares (60 acres) and is surrounded by woodlands, walking paths, and lawns. The park is full of memorials, including the Litchfield Villa and a statue of General Lafayette. Stop first at the Boathouse visitor center for information on park events and attractions. Rent a bicycle to tour the trails if you want to cover a large area in a shorter amount of time. With our online itinerary creator, Brooklyn attractions like Prospect Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Beautiful park in Brooklyn by the same creators of Central Park. Only downside: not as well maintained as Central Park... could use better maintenance of paths, and more consistent trash & graffiti... more »

Prospect park is an iconic landscape of natural but manicured gardens, Trees, roads and paths. Plenty to explore to exercise those legs of yours. Oxygen density is better in this zone like central park, but for downtown Brooklyn. The outskirts have plenty of shops restaurants and you find tourists and locals frequently engaging. I personally love this area. You should too. Enjoy

We had the privilege to come to Prospect Park to celebrate a birthday and it is always a great, clean and fun venue! The kids get to run around, there is a lot of space and vendors and things to do. We very much recommend this park and hope to party again here soon!
