The State House, designed by Charles Bulfinch, which was completed on January 11, 1798, is the perfect location overseeing the Commons. This historical active registration build, with it's majestic huge gold dome, is a major tourist stop and part of the Freedom Trail. It is also a jumping off point and mostly an ending spot to many major rallies over the years. * Also , the two oldest tree's are right across the street by the 54th Regiment Monument from the State House.
This was a wonderful visit! It's unfortunate that you can only go on weekdays since most people work during the week but I managed to score a day off to visit. Beautiful old building with plenty of History. They offer tours and it was completely worth it. You just need to make sure you go on a weekday! Be sure to check out the Women's Hall of Fame hallway
