The Walters Art Museum houses a vast selection of world art, including Greek sculpture, Roman sarcophagi, Art Nouveau jewelry, and medieval ivories, as well as Old Master and 19th-century masterpieces. Named for William Thompson Walters and Henry Walters, the father and son duo who collected a significant portion of the museum’s pieces, the museum opened in 1934 following Henry’s death and subsequent donation of his collection to the city of Baltimore. An audio guide is available to talk you through each exhibit. Make your Baltimore itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

Stunning art in a warm and friendly environment :). I was in Baltimore for the day and this museum was nearby. This ended up being the highlight of my trip! Upon entry, the staff gives you a warm greeting. (I met Eric, who was wonderful!) There were free lockers to place my backpack, to lighten my load while I walked the museum. There was even a cafe. (I met a staff member there named Sheba. She was so sweet and a joy to talk to!) The Walters Museum was immaculate and so well organized! All of the staff throughout the museum were friendly and accommodating. The pieces of art were stunning and versatile. This place is so worth the visit! Highly recommended!

Lovely museum! The Walters collections were absolutely worth being displayed and definitely deserved a museum for everyone to visit. Justice was served! It's definitely in the top 3 attractions of Baltimore. You will never regret a visit to this museum whether you're a passionate of history or not, you'll most likely appreciate it. You just cannot miss a visit to the Walter's. There are many things for children to see and do, as well as what adults will expect and enjoy. The opening of the Walters House is an added attraction with a stunning staircase and stained glass skylight.
