Constructed during a 1980s period of urban renewal, National Aquarium shelters more than 17,000 marine animals, representing 750 different species. Dedicated to inspiring conservation of the world's diminishing aquatic treasures and disseminating information about the pressing issues facing endangered habitats around the globe, the aquarium offers educational programs suitable for visitors of all ages. You can learn about the dangers threatening the planet's rain forests and coral reefs, or visit the marine mammal pavilion to observe Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, most of which were born in captivity. Save a little time for the sea cliffs exhibit, housing several species of seabirds. National Aquarium reviews
OKAY, let me start by saying if you've never been, go now. Pack your bags and go. We've only been to a few aquariums but this one was definitely our favorite. They are very covid conscious, and they..... more »
I couldn’t be happier with our experience at the National Aquarium! For starters, you must make reservations in advance online, due to the pandemic. When we arrived on a Wednesday morning, the place.... more »
My first visit to this place was great. There was a bunch of different exhibits and areas that you can explore. Along with the great atmosphere there was a bunch of friendly staff along the way as well. Our party of eight was constantly looking around and seeing great things. We were able to catch all the museum in one day. I recommend going to certain areas at certain times because sometimes they get extremely busy. A little planning ahead will go along way.
The National Aquarium exceeded all expectations! My original plan was to visit the zoo, but it down-poured so I opted for the Aquarium instead, and I’m so happy I went! The exhibits are exciting, beautiful and so engaging! Have you ever touched a moon jelly jellyfish? I have now, because of this Aquarium, and you can too! There are six floors, all with ramps, escalators and elevators so everyone can enjoy! On the first floor is a large open-lid tank with tons of depths, and the building circles you around upstairs, so that at any point, you can look into the first floor tank (excepting the highest up). On the last, and highest, floor is an entire “jungle” exhibit with monkeys, birds and plenty of flora! Their highest floor brings you back down to the first floor with a shark exhibit that gets darker in lighting the further down you go, and that was an amazing experience to see them in both bright and dim/black lighting! The National Aquarium has a long y’all connected to another part of its building, and the hall is lined with glass, overlooking the harbor which is quite a sight to see! In the other building are all their show rooms, so grab a pamphlet when you enter to catch their dolphin show! It was so cute to see all the tricks they did, and always amazing to be reminded of how intelligent they are! If I could rate this place properly, it’d be infinity/5 stars! I would go again, and I highly recommend this place to everyone!
