Baltimore Museum of Art, a 1929 building modeled after a Roman temple, holds more than 90,000 pieces of 19th-century, modern, and contemporary art, plus the largest collection of Henri Matisse's works in the world. Some of the museum's highlights include works by Picasso, van Gogh, Renoir, Matisse, and Cézanne. You'll also find objects from ancient Egypt; masks, figures, and ceremonial weapons of old African tribes; and mosaics from ancient Antioch. Browse through works by the Mayas and Aztecs, including ceramics, dancing figures, and golden ritual objects, dating as far back as 2500 BCE. Don't forget to take a walk through the museum's gardens, which showcase 20th-century sculptures. Great museum with lots of interesting exhibits! I especially enjoyed their collection of contemporary art. This is a well-maintained and considerably large, and admission is free. More interactiveness would have been a nice touch, but other than that, this is a good place to spend an hour or two. I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re looking for something to do in the area.
Lovely building full of amazing art collections. The Cone Collection is exquisite. The staff are friendly and helpful here. The gift shop has a great selection of unique gift items
