Marwell Zoo offers you the opportunity to see wildlife up close and help save endangered species at the same time. In the 57 hectares (140 acres) of exhibits, view over 1,200 animals across 235 different species. Snow leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, gazelles, crocodiles, lemurs, and many more make their homes in enclosures that recreate their natural habitats. Follow one of the woodland trails to see small, local animals in the wild, and sit in on an expert talk about one of the zoo's species. The proceeds from your visit--including admission tickets that you can purchase online--support the zoo's conservation efforts in the UK and abroad. With our world travel planner, Winchester attractions like Marwell Zoo can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
Marwell Zoo reviews
I’ve been reading everyone’s reviews since locking lifted. Yes the zoo can appear to be busy when you first proceed through the gates, everyone heads towards the penguin enclosure. No one says you..... more »
Unfortunately we chose a miserable day weather wise which is a risk one takes with the requirement to pre book. However the Lego statues saved our day since it gave our two grandchildren a trail to... more »
Very good day out for adults and children alike. Lots of a animals, cute and fierce. My favourite is the red pandas. Large park that will take you a good 4 to 5 hours to walk around, but keep on mind the park is based on a hill so first half your trip you're walking up hill, and on the second half it's all down hill. Marwell has a very good and large free car park so plenty of room to park. The price is reasonable at around£20 including a donation to the upkeep of the animals. Worth a visit.
Bought our daughter a Junior Zoo Keeper experience (1/2 day). We were greeted at the gate on time and quickly got the day underway. Alex was our guide for the day and was very friendly and informative about many parts of the zoo, its animals and the history of the zoo. The children loved him and they got a full on compact morning which was great value for money. They were able to really get hands on and even stroke the rhinos and get in the enclosure with the monkeys and feed them some treats. It was fun, value for money and educational. Highly recommended.
