  • Lovely historical place. Free parking entrance to the castle grounds is free, just need to pay to get into the castle itself. The castle is full of history and there are loads of information points inside. There are spiral stairs to the top of the keep, or normal stairs which take you about two thirds of the way up. Either way it's a hell of a climb!! Worth it tho as the view is stunning from the top. Loads of space in the grounds for a play and picnic. Parking fills up quickly tho. There is also a pretty scenic walk around the shoreline outside the castle. Great place for dog walking. There's a little church in the grounds, and round the back a very small cafe that sell really nice cakes! Highly recommended place to visit.
  • The castle wall is gorgeous! There is a church with z tea room and a Roman cemetery. The keep has been restored and the views from the top are spectacular! Beautiful location right on the water. Large grounds great for picnics. Large park with kids play park. Awesome day out for families
