Explore animals of land and sky at the Isle of Wight’s Monkey Haven. As a well-known animal relief organization, the center boasts a diverse collection of rescued primates and birds of prey. Attend a handling session with a knowledgeable trainer and learn more about the different types of monkeys, or listen to individual rescue stories while watching the owls being fed. Stop for a hot chocolate and scone at the center’s cafe before you leave. The center is nonprofit, so all proceeds go toward animal conservation and education. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Newport holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Monkey Haven and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
Monkey Haven Reviews
A lovely place which has clearly been maintained well and the animals are cared for. You probably won’t be able to fill a full day here as it isn’t huge but it is certainly worth a visit. The monkeys.... more »

Visit 15/7/19 a beautiful sunny day . Suitable for all ages. Not just families. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our day there. There was building work for the new reptile house going on but it didn't interfere with the enjoyment/ experience. Beautiful layout spacious well equipped cages for the monkeys play and leisure time. The talks/ feed times were informative and fun. Will definitely be going again on our next visit to the Isle of Wight.
A friend and I decided to have a spur of the moment lunch today. Despite it being Monday, the restaurant was packed, but they managed to find us a good table. The service was friendly. We had a very attentive waitress, who kept replenishing our water without being asked. We had to wait a bit longer than expected for our meal, but had apologies and an explanation, which is something some other places don't seem to bother much with. When our meals arrived, they were excellent. We had Caesar Salads, I asked for no anchovies and was pleasantly surprised that they had substituted crispy chopped bacon. Well done.
