Prince Edward Pub, London

4.2
#367 of 1,204 in Nightlife in London
Local North-London boozer, family run and a great atmosphere. The pub shows nearly every Premier League match live and has a jukebox. Cheapest pool table around (only 50p, which isn't to bad) also a beer garden which has heating for those cold nights!

  • Decent selection of whiskeys, bourbons and gin and the quality of the food is above that of a typical pub. Prices aren't too bad either.
  • We were here for drinks and a bit of food last week. There was a match on so the place was quite busy. Luckily we got a table but nobody came to clear the table from the people before us/to take our order, so we went to the bar to order our food and drinks, and asked the guy to clear off the table for us - which he did, although to be honest none of the staff seemed like they wanted to be there (maybe because it was busy). The food was slow to come out but that was understandable given it was busy. The food came out and starters and mains came out together which was a bit weird but as we were hungry at that stage we didn't mind too much - the food was pretty tasty! We had a few more drinks after the food and then paid up. It was only after paying the bill that we noticed a "discretionary service charge of 10% is added for all serviced tables bills". This ended up being over £9 for just two people at the table. I don't mind leaving a small tip for the staff, however given that we ordered from the bar and the only table service we got was when the food was brought to our table, this was pretty annoying!
