Museum of Freemasonry Reviews
We arrived around 4pm and so had about an hour to look around the museum. We weren't offered a tour. We saw and read about most things in the museum. It is interesting to see all the items and... more »
No matter how frequently I go to London, I always make a point to visit the Museum. The Oldest Grand Lodge in the World, has some of the most impressive masonic relics, worth viewing! more »
Cost is about 6€ plus minus special statuses. The museum is more interesting for its ideas than the objects it holds. The library shop has lots of info on this discreet society which is active ongoing with about 24k members in Belgium. All over Europe and America are their presences, (not Asia). They are masonry in the sense they are composed of people that seek out truth to build cornerstones of society. They are not limited by the religion fervor that filters and bounds knowledge. The symbols that is within the society is all over the city's constructs, i.e. The layout of Bruxelles park in the three part triangles, is the supreme presence.
An awesome unique museum inside a magnificent 1933 Art Deco building and working Freemasons' Hall. It works to dispel common myths about Freemasonry and perhaps get new people interested, although there's no denying that it's all a little strange. The vast collection is fascinating, odd, and beautiful in equal measures. The volunteers are friendly and the explained history informative, if not a little challenging. You may walk away with more questions than answers.
