#6 of 220 in Museums in London
Marvel at lifelike wax figures of the world's most famous actors and actresses, athletes, entertainers, and politicians at Madame Tussauds London. This is the original site of the museum that's become a franchise in nine other cities around the globe. Wax sculptor Marie Tussaud established the museum in 1884, and today it houses over 300 figures. The figures on display change frequently to keep up with the times, but you can expect to find sculptures of famous people from both the past and present. After viewing the exhibits, sit for a 4-D movie on a 360-degree screen, and then enter the Scream! house of horrors. Purchase your tickets online before you visit to reduce both the price of admission and your wait to enter. • Paid 35 quid for queueing for 2 hours on a Sunday. Go early and beat the crowd. My son is 15 and he enjoyed it as they like their cameras so much. In the end there’s a Marvel 4D short movie. A bit pri...  more »
  • I have to admit that after looking forward to our visit I was left a little disappointed. There didn’t seem to be as many models as there were last time I visited and some rooms seemed rather spacious...  more »

  • This is a great experience, for all types of people young and old. If you're visiting London or you're even a local k would definitely recommend doing this. Not just wax figures but there is a history here that is told in such a way it makes it fun. Prices are a bit high though but you can get good deals online especially deals with other attractions like the London eye included. Recommended going a few times as they change things around as well
  • Excellent place to see your favorite movie, TV, and historical characters from the past and current. The museum displays their firgures in a way that allows people to have the most fun possible. Takes about an hour and a half to walk through the museum. It will also take about 30 minutes to stand in line during the winter season. We came earlier than our given time on accident and they still let us in.
  • We have visited this place on 1st of Jan, 2018. There was an hour long queue to get an entry. Few of the wax statues were really good. Looks pretty real. Do not miss the 4D show included in ticket. Worth a visit. 2 minutes walk from Baker Street Tube station.
  • This is so much fun. I would definitely recommend this as people of any age can enjoy it. It was amazing to see how realistic it looks and you can even get a was work of your hand done now in a variety of colours as something to take back with you. Also they have a 4d experience of the avenger which is all good fun. If that's not enough there is such a wide variety of famous faces that everyone will recognise some one.
  • Amazing place and is worth it's price 100%. For the price you get several rooms with wax figures of celebrities, sportsmen, historic figures etc. You go on a London Spirit cab ride and you get a Marvel 4D show (at least that's what we had in Jan 2018), they also had a whole Star Wars display. Warning: professionally taken photos will cost you £14, but you can take as many photos as you can on your own phone/camera and you can touch all the figures. Also be prepared to queue to get a picture with the Royal family.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
