  • It's quite amazing. A roof over so vast a space without a pillar or column. The central altar is surrounded along all sides by large 'niches' for want of a better word, dedicated to worship or sculptures of whatever kind. It is a beautiful space and place, sitting on top of very wide stairs overlooking Hope Street. Cafe and shop are on street level. Well worth a visit, just to see or for quiet contemplation.
  • If you're looking to visit a modern auditorium devoid of any warmth or atmosphere - this is your kind place. However, if you're looking for a place of worship that expresses the beauty, permanence and transcendence of Catholicism, you'll have to look somewhere else. Ironically, Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral is probably going to be your best alternative to this monstrosity!
