Alexandra Park is a public park located in Hastings, East Sussex in England. It was originally planned out by Robert Marnock and occupies approximately 109acre of the town. Its linear area stretches from the town centre out to residential areas. It was formally opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales on 26 June 1882.Plan to visit Alexandra Park and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended St Leonards-on-Sea attractions using our St Leonards-on-Sea online road trip planner.
In April 2004, the park was officially reopened by Charlie Dimmock and the Mayor of Hastings after a large regeneration scheme costing £3.46m. Initial surveys suggest that park visitor numbers have dramatically increased since the completion of the scheme.
The park fauna consists of grey squirrels, Canada geese and mallard ducks as well as an array of different bird life. The squirrels and other animals are all used to human contact and the café has dried food that you can purchase to feed them.
The park features several small water reservoirs that provide popular locations for leisure fishing within the town. The lower area of the park has several public facilities including a lake, war memorial, bowls green, information point, toilets, café, events areas, bandstand and adventure playground. There is a water thoroughfare all around the park linking the reservoirs. There is a gauge miniature railway at the northern end of the park.
The park hosts the annual Hastings Beer and Music Festival, which takes place in July. In addition, the open air bandstand is used for various band concerts throughout the summer months. Further up the park there is a Chalybeate Spring.

Stayed close to the park in August. Although we did not have chance to explore the whole park as it is huge, the parts we visited were clean and well kept. Lovely. more »
This park is a lovely park. You can walk a good distance (there's a road in the middle, it's not just one side). The cafe is really lovely. Good food and coffee. Plenty of choice. Toilets throughout. Usually pretty clean. Hardly EVER any dog muck about. If you sit long enough you can probably get a squirrel eating out of your hand. Couple of play areas. Two ponds and a small reservoir and lots of events throughout the year. Even a miniature railway on occasion! Parking free all around the edge. Worth a visit
Many different things to do with children! They can cycle, run, use the scooter, have a picking, play in the playground, etc. Mum and dad can enjoy the coffee shop and relax!! The setting is really nice and there's something like woodland for you to enjoy nature!!
