  • The Roald Dahl museum is fabulous. We took my 7 yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved it! She was chosen to help act out the "Jack & the beanstalk story" in the Babbling room. She also enjoyed making a "Beastie" in the arts & crafts workshop, which cost only an additional £3. It is a very reasonable price entrance fee, £6.40 for adults & £4.40 for children. The cafe doesn't sell a lot of variety of foods but there is just enough choice, however, it is a little on the expensive side. Some families I observed brought their own picnic type foods & were able to eat it indoors in the "Children's eating room", which I thought was very good. I would recommend this museum for age 4 & upwards, every child seemed to be having great fun!!
  • Lovely museum which encourages creativity in children. 2 interesting rooms about Roald Dahl, with lots of interactive opportunities for children of all ages. A story telling room with lots of activities and craft opportunities as well as a special activity in another room, making a lair on the day we visited. Possibly more suitable for older children who already have a connection with Roald Dahl books. There's a lovely cafe on site, alas the day we visited we were unable to have any cakes as the microwave was broken & thus they were unable to defrost the gluten free options for us. Plenty of other options in the village though. Free parking on a Sunday on Link Road near the park, with a good playground over the road.
  • Magnificent way to learn more about this beloved author. Activities are engaging and they have various types of things to do for children of all ages. Adults will learn a lot more about all sorts. We had a smashingly scrumtidilumptious afternoon here!
  • Great pricing and just about the right length of visit for little ones to keep them amused. The story time was delivered brilliantly and the activities on the way round were brilliant.
  • A hidden little gem. A tiny museum but full of interesting things and some interactive displays. We spent around 2 hours there. It has an outside area for picnic and a café serving home made cakes. I'd say it would be good for children aged 7 and upwards. There is a park nearby ( with playgrounds inc zip wire and tennis courts) if you'd like to make it a family day out.
