The Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel Reviews
Everywhere you look there is something to see! The museum brings you back in time the minute you walk in. When you finish walking through the main building you can go outside and explore the ship. Fun... more »
Our walk along the river was 2 minutes from the train station & worth it! Weather was perfect with great views of the city. more »
Great museum but more aimed at a younger audience. Also, it is very much centered on transportation in Glasgow instead of being focused on transportation in general. This is fine, just depends on what you expect. There's plenty to see which is great but no way you are guided the museum. More in depth information would be good. Still enjoyed it and love that museums in the UK are free. This does mean that museums need to cater to the largest possible audience which is probably families with children and this shows.
If you love transportation and wants to know more just pass through. But you'll be lost in what you will experience. Spend a day or two to enjoy it. You'll leave the Museum more satisfied with the experience. There is something for all transport lovers; cars, trains, tramps, ship, bikes, etc. The space is children friendly and they would learn and have fun. Always remember to that a piece of them with you from the shop. Maybe you can just sit for something quick.
