Folkestone Harbour Arm, Folkestone

4.1
#1 of 7 in Historic Sites in Folkestone
Still in the early stages of its redevelopment, Folkestone’s Harbour Arm has rapidly become a food, drink and entertainment destination for the town and its visitors.

Originally the railway terminal for the Folkestone- Boulogne Ferry and departure point for soldiers on their way to the Western Front, the arm still embraces the town’s working fishing harbour, becoming a pivotal point in the town’s future and its historical past.

Small, independent businesses along the pier give it its unique flavour, and its reputation is growing as restoration continues along the platform and across the railway bridge and beyond, with the addition of an onsite bakery and brewery, a regular farmer’s market and other seasonal events.

Folkestone’s Harbour Arm has swiftly become the beacon for the regeneration of Folkestone as a destination town.

  • It's a shame. No parking app. The machines are freezing constantly. The que is miles long. And you pay for queuing time. Absolute disaster.  more »

  • In the summer there are pop up bars food outlets and the occasional DJ playing a variety of music. There are funky little coffee shops and eateries in the old station building open all year around. Just a nice atmosphere during event's and there is work going on to make continuous improvements
  • Very nice seaside walk when the weather is good. Can be very lively in the summer on a Sunday as they have live bands. They serve different types of food and drinks . There is a large car park next to it. You get lovey views of the harbour. You need to keep an eye on the children though because their is only a chain as a barrier from the sea.
