Considered a masterpiece of urban architecture, Georgian House provides a look at city life in the 18th century. Situated in the commercial heart of Edinburgh, the house remains virtually unchanged since its construction in the 1790s, when well-heeled city dwellers began to flee the cramped neighborhoods of the old town. Designed by architect Robert Adam and packed with period china, silver, paintings, and furniture, the house provides a rare glimpse into the domestic and social conditions of the 18th century. Take a self-guided tour of the kitchen, dining rooms, and basement to see how the other half lived in Georgian Edinburgh. Georgian House Reviews
La casa si snoda su più piani (compreso il sotterraneo in cui risiedono le cucine e lo shop). Il personale è gentilissimo, sembra di entrare in una casa ancora abitata più che in un museo. The staff is very nice, it seems to enter a house still inhabited more than in a museum. It starts from the top floor where a very well-crafted video that represents life in the Georgian era (with actors and reconstructions) subtitled in English is projected. So we move on to the dressing up room or disguise with the clothes of the time (my daughter and I took advantage of it and had a lot of fun). You can also try and write with pen and ink. The dining room is beautiful, the table set a real pleasure for the eyes, even the living room and the bedroom are very pleasant, everything has been preserved and refurbished with extreme care. The ladies in each room can't wait to provide information, you can see that they are very satisfied with the museum in which they work and have reason to do so. Photos are allowed as long as they are flash-free; in the small shop I bought some really nice items. I mean, better than that, you couldn't do it. If you're in Edinburgh go absolutely (even with small children who can color freely in a top-floor lounge).

It retains all the furniture and decoration of an eighteenth century house in great detail and although I consider it one of the twelve places you should not miss in Edinburgh, the entrance for 8 pounds seems excessive, but that is the way the British...
Very interesting museum about the life of a family in the Georgian times. There rooms and objects are beautifully displayed and conserved. I also would like to highlight the amazing staff that works here, they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The visit is 9 pounds for adults and they have toilets on the second floor. There is a souvenir and gift shop. There are costumes and stickers to keep children entertained. We spent around 2 hours here.
A great experience and worth every penny of the 8£ entry fee. The place is lovely put together with lots of details. In every room there is a helpful and knowledgeable person who is happy to tell you more.
