  • Amazing place! Great for a couple of hours of historical reading/hiking and to bring the kids to get energy out. Aside from a fascinating history, there are lots of steps (be prepared) and overlooks for great vistas. Steps can get slippery in some areas when there has been a bit of rain, beware especially for children. Parking was limited but generally pretty easy to find.
  • Awesome castle on the top of a massive rock. There are a lot of steps, but the views over the Clyde are amazing. Included in the Historic Scotland Explorer pass, definitely worth an hour visit for the views, especially if you have kids. Also pretty uncrowded, which is nice.
