With a history stretching back to the sixth century, Llandaff Cathedral calls to mind the legend of King Arthur, who is even depicted in a stained-glass window. The cathedral has been threatened twice: once in the time of King Henry VIII, when pilgrims and their maintenance-supporting donations were forbidden, and again during World War II due to a landmine. In this century, you’ll see that the cathedral remains well-maintained and features a distinctly evocative statue of Christ by the sculptor Jacob Epstein. Take a look around this cathedral and learn a little about the history of the Catholic church in Wales. This is hidden gems in Cardiff. It is very old but well maintain. Once enter you will feel warmly welcome by the staff. She is very friendly and eager to explain its history. I do recommend Cardiff visitors to come and donate if you can as there is no entry fee for this beautiful place.
Historic Cathedral that overlooks Cardiff set in beautiful grounds with walls around the riuns of the bell tower and Bishop's Palace nearby. The bell times the hours across the University fields and trails along the Taff. Inside there is a mixture of modern and old within a prayerful setting.
