Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.
When in San Juan, make a side trip to see El Yunque National Forest in El Yunque National Forest, approximately El Yunque National Forest away. For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Tue): stroll through Playa Caracas and then stroll through Playa La Chiva. On the next day, add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Balneario Sun Bay.

Manatí is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) on the northern coast, north of Morovis and Ciales; east of Florida and Barceloneta; and west of Vega Baja.
