Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Tivoli (Villa d'Este & Villa Adriana). There's lots more to do: explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill, steep yourself in history at Colosseum, explore the world behind art at Galleria Borghese, and make a trip to Roman Forum.
