Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
You've added Sensō-ji, Tokyo Skytree, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and other attractions to your itinerary. Visiting Odaiba Kaihin Koen (Odaiba Seaside Park) and Kimono Photo Studio Wa will get you outdoors. Do your shopping at Art Jeunesse Akihabara and Yokohama Chinatown. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tokyo: Yokohama (Minato Mirai 21 & Nogeyama Zoo). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Tokyo National Museum, appreciate the history behind Hachiko, wander the streets of Ueno, and make a trip to Chidorigafuchi.

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Todai-ji Temple has been added to your itinerary. Shop till you drop at Nishiki Market and Asahido Honten. Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kinkaku-ji are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Kyoto (Walking tours, Ryoanji Temple, & more), Kobe Harborland (in Kobe) and Pontocho (in Nakagyo). The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Kyoto Imperial Palace.
