The striking town of Orvieto, perched on a volcanic cliff overlooking the Umbrian countryside, is known as the Green Heart of Italy.
Escape the urban bustle at Val d'Orcia and Orvieto Underground. Get some historical perspective at Duomo di Orvieto and Pozzo di San Patrizio. Change things up with these side-trips from Orvieto: Winery Solaria Patrizia Cencioni (in Montalcino), Fosso Bianco - Bagni San Filippo (in Bagni di San Filippo) and Abbazia di Sant'Antimo (in Castelnuovo dell'Abate).
