Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Tue): make a trip to Liberdade Square, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), stroll through Cais da Ribeira, then take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I, then get into the urban bustle at Palacio da Bolsa, and finally stop by Livraria Lello. On the next day, take in the local highlights with Walking tours, then admire the natural beauty at Jardins do Palacio de Cristal, and then walk around Parque da Cidade do Porto.
