The ancient city of Leuven supports an old Catholic university and offers interesting architecture, botanical gardens, and great breweries.
On the 3rd (Fri), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Directions Basilliek van Scherpenheuvel, steep yourself in history at Abdij van Vlierbeek, and then explore the historical opulence of Arenberg Castle. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get engrossed in the history at Teseum, admire the striking features of Groot Begijnhof, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Sint-Kwintenskerk, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of klein Begijnhof.
