Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill. On the 26th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di San Pietro, then explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums, and then explore the ancient world of Colosseum.

London, UK to Rome is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of train, flight, and subway. You can also take a train; or do a combination of car and train. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Get a sense of the local culture at Galleria dell'Accademia and Pitti Palace. Appreciate the collections at Uffizi Gallery and Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence. Venture out of the city with trips to Siena (Piazza del Campo & Siena Cathedral). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, make a trip to Piazza della Signoria, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza del Duomo, and snap pictures at Ponte Vecchio.

Start off your visit on the 31st (Sun): admire the striking features of Porta della Carta, then admire the striking features of Basilica di San Marco, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande.
