The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
You'll get in some beach time at Iojima Island and Takahama Beach. Get some cultural insight at Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and Glover Garden. Step out of Nagasaki with an excursion to Omura Park in Omura--about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Urakami Cathedral, stop by Tatematsuru, contemplate the long history of Suwa Shrine, and browse the different shops at Amu Plaza Nagasaki.

Manila, Philippines to Nagasaki is an approximately 9-hour combination of bus, flight, and train. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Manila to Nagasaki. Shimabara is a city located on the north-eastern tip of the Shimabara Peninsula, facing Ariake Bay in the east and Mount Unzen (including Fugendake) in the west, in Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan.As of October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 44,936 and a population density of 540 persons per km².
