Cuenca, Ecuador to Sapporo is an approximately 38-hour flight. You'll lose 14 hours traveling from Cuenca to Sapporo due to the time zone difference. Plan for cooler temperatures traveling from Cuenca in March, with highs in Sapporo at 1°C and lows at -1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Hakodate.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park and Kanmon Bridge. Get out of town with these interesting Fukuoka side-trips: Ohnojo Castle Ruins - Mt. Shiojiyama (in Dazaifu), Yoshinogari Historical Park (in Yoshinogari-cho) and Kobo Tottan (in Itoshima).
