Perched beneath the foothills of several soaring mountains, the town of Minakami-machi provides a picturesque stepping stone from which to explore the dramatic surrounding scenery.
Bring the kids along to Onsen Resorts and Fukiwarenotaki Falls. Escape the urban bustle at Tanigawadaketenjindaira Ski Area and Minakami Kogen Ski Resort. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Minakami-machi: Kawaba-mura (Kabuto Falls & Kojyu Hotspring), Gunma Astronomical Observatory (in Takayama-mura) and Numata (Tenkeiji Temple, Spa Resort Yuniiku, &more). Famous for its Daruma dolls, Takasaki serves as a great stopover town during a trip through Japan.
Kids will enjoy Haruna Shrine and Ikaho Stone Steps. Museum-lovers will appreciate Konnyaku Park and Kanra Town History and Folklore Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Tomioka (Gunma Safari Park, Momijidaira Sogo Park, &more), Shibukawa (Ikaho Shrine, Taru no Kanko Strawberry Park, &more) and Maebashi (Genkeiji Temple, Ninomiya Akagi Shrine, &more).
