Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography and Ushguli ethnographic Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Mikheil Khegiani House Museum and Ushguli Ethnographic Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Mestia: Love Tower (in Bogreshi) and Ushguli (LaMaria Church & Shkhara Glacier). There's lots more to do: take in the awesome beauty at Mountain Ushba, fly down the slopes at Ski Resort Tetnuldi, head outdoors with Chaladi Glacier, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Khatsvali Ski Resort.

Aspindza is a daba in southern Georgia's region of Samtskhe-Javakheti with a population of 2,793, mostly ethnic Georgians. Take a break from the city and head to Paravani Lake and Sagamo Lake. Vardzia and Khertvisi Fortress are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Aspindza side-trips: Jivani House Museum (in Kartsakhi), Abuli Fortress (in Gamdzani) and Cave Town Vanis-Kvabebi (in Gogasheni).
