Formerly a sleepy fishing village, the beach resort town of Kuta now represents one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Geger Temple and Puja Mandala. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Mt Batur and Balangan Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Kuta side-trips: Ungasan (Green Bowl Beach, Melasti Beach, & more), Pecatu (Bingin Beach, Pemutih Beach, & more) and Off-Road Tours (in Nusa Dua). Nusa Lembongan

The island of Nusa Lembongan sits amidst swathes of calm, clear waters as well as some of the most notable surfing waves in the region.
Step off the beaten path and head to Devil's Tears and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Step out of the city life by going to Mushroom Beach and Selambung Beach. Spend the 23rd (Wed) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 25th (Fri) at Sunday Beach Waterpark Lembongan. A snaking coastline and quaint, sleepy fishing villages characterize Amed, a stretch of shorefront with seven villages in Bali's east.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Taman Tirtagangga and Ujung Water Palace. Step off the beaten path and head to USS Liberty Shipwreck and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Change things up with a short trip to Lotus Lagoon in Candidasa (about 1h 05 min away). Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Jemeluk Beach, Head underground at Goa Lawah Temple, stroll through White Sand Beach Yoga, and make a trip to Lempuyang Temple.
