The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
On the 1st (Thu), make a trip to Sage Prefectural Government Observation Deck, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Yoshinogari Historical Park, then admire the masterpieces at Ishibashi Museum, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kora Taisha Shrine. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Matsubara Shrine, contemplate the long history of Saga Shrine, explore the galleries of Saga Castle Hommaru History Museum, then steep yourself in history at Yanagawa Ohana, and finally contemplate the long history of Hakushu Memorial Museum.

You can drive from Tsushima to Fukuoka in 5.5 hours. While traveling from Tsushima, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Fukuoka, ranging from highs of 36°C to lows of 28°C. On the 3rd (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
