With an illustrious history as a main stop along the Great Silk Road, Khiva boasts remarkably well-preserved cultural attractions and a beautiful historic core.
On the 27th (Sat), delve into the distant past at Itchan Kala, explore the historical opulence of Citadel Kunya-ark, and then contemplate the long history of Stone Palace (Tash Khauli). Here are some ideas for day two: get engrossed in the history at Bakcha Darvaza, admire the striking features of Ota Darvoza, admire the landmark architecture of Alla Kuki Khan Madrasah, contemplate the long history of Allakuli Khan Tim Market, thentake in the spiritual surroundings of Friday Mosque (Juma Mosque), and finally steep yourself in history at Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum.
