Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Sun): explore the galleries of Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum and then explore the landscape on two wheels at The Colorado Trail.

Colorado Springs to Durango is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Colorado Springs in June, plan for little chillier nights in Durango, with lows around 44°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can travel to Sedona.

Visiting Jerome State Historic Park and Douglas Mansion will get you outdoors. Museum-lovers will get to explore Jerome Historical Society Mine Museum and Village Gallery of Local Artists.
