The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Head to Vienna Naschmarkt and Mariahilfer Strassefor plenty of shopping. Appreciate the collections at Belvedere Palace and Albertina. Get out of town with these interesting Vienna side-trips: Wachau Valley (in Joching), Melk Abbey (in Melk) and Burgruine Landsee (in Landsee). Pack the 27th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Prater. And it doesn't end there: step into the grandiose world of Schonbrunn Palace, admire the masterpieces at Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Stephen's Cathedral, and don't miss a visit to Historic Center of Vienna.

If you are flying in from Philippines, the closest major airport is Vienna International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 29°C in June, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
