Matsuyama features a number of historical sites and acts as a gateway for exploring the rest of Shikoku.
Get in touch with nature at Bay Side Beach Saka and Miyajima. Relax by the water at Futami Seaside Park Beach and Katsuragahama Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Matsuyama: Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street (in Miyajima), Hatsukaichi (Daishoin Temple & Itsukushima Shrine) and Kamiyacho (in Hiroshima). There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Matsuyama Castle, look for gifts at Michi-no-Eki Hiyoshi Yumesanchi, test the waters at a local thermal spa, and browse the different shops at Emifull Masaki.

To find maps, where to stay, other places to visit, and more tourist information, use the Matsuyama driving holiday planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Hiroshima Airport, Takamatsu Airport and Okayama Momotaro Airport. Expect a daytime high around °C in September, and nighttime lows around °C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
