The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Venture out of the city with trips to Dazaifu (Dazaifu Tenman-gu & Komyozen-ji Temple) and Kitakyushu (Kanmon Kaikyo, San Ki Ro, &more). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine, go for a walk through Fukuoka Tower, admire the landmark architecture of Hakata Station, and buy something for everyone on your list at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center.

Singapore, Singapore to Fukuoka is an approximately 9-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Fukuoka. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Singapore in February: high temperatures in Fukuoka hover around °C and lows are around °C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
