Shop till you drop at Minato Mirai 21 and Harajuku Takeshita-dori. Visit Shirasato Central Beach and Shirosaki Beach for some beach relaxation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tokyo: Ghibli Museum Mitaka (in Mitaka), Narita (Gaku-do & Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple) and Kamogawa Sea World (in Kamogawa). Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple, wander the streets of Odaiba, explore the world behind art at Tokyo National Museum, and don't miss a visit to Meiji Jingu Shrine.

Your inner history buff will appreciate Nijo Castle and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Visiting Nara Park and Mt. Takao will get you outdoors. You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. July in Kyoto sees daily highs of 37°C and lows of 28°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can travel to Busan.
