One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Go for a jaunt from Seoul to Paju to see DMZ Haemaru Village about 1h 25 min away. There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace, stroll through Changdeokgung Palace, explore the striking landscape of Bukhansan National Park, and admire the natural beauty at Namsan Park.

Vancouver, Canada to Seoul is an approximately 13.5-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Vancouver to Seoul, you'll lose 17 hours due to the time zone difference. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Vancouver in June, with highs in Seoul at 32°C and lows at 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Chuncheon.

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
Venture out of the city with trips to Sutasa Temple (in Hongcheon-gun), Guryongsa Temple (in Wonju) and Pyeongchang-gun (Lee Hyo Seok Literature Forest & Phoenix Snow Park). There's much more to do: step off the mainland to explore Nami Island, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cheongpyeongsa, find something for the whole family at Gangchon Rail Park, and go for a walk through Gongjicheon Recreation Area.

Traveling by car from Seoul to Chuncheon takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a subway. In June, daytime highs in Chuncheon are 32°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Wed) so you can drive to Sokcho.

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.
Get out of town with these interesting Andong side-trips: Cheongsong-gun (Jusanji Pond & Juwangsan National Park), Cheongnyangsa Temple (in Bonghwa-gun) and Yeongju (Sosuseowon Confucian School & Buseoksa Temple). You can drive from Sokcho to Andong in 3.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. In June, daily temperatures in Andong can reach 23°C, while at night they dip to 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Daegu.
