Just west of Vilnius lies the lake resort and historical city of Trakai, famed for its fairy tale-like cityscape and the eclectic mix of communities that built it.
On the 27th (Sat), examine the collection at Karaim Ethnographic exhibition, thentake in the spiritual surroundings of Kenesa, thenadmire the landmark architecture of Trakai Island Castle Museum, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Nativity of Most Holy Mother of God.

Kernavė was a medieval capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and today is a tourist attraction and an archeological site (population 318, 1999). On the 28th (Sun), see the interesting displays at Angels Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Apostle Evangelist St. Matthew, don't miss a visit to Puntukas Stone, thenmake a trip to The Treetop Walking Path, thenlet little ones run wild at Labyrinth Park, and finally get your game on at Cosmos. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to Rubikiai Observation Tower, examine the collection at Lithuanian Museum of Ethnocosmology, and then get engrossed in the history at Reconstruction of the 13th and 14th Century Craftsmen's Yards in Kernavė.
